Our Client & Location
Our client is a forward-thinking, family-owned farming business located on the Liverpool Plains near Mullaley, NSW-just 55km west of Gunnedah, excellent local schooling options. It's a fantastic area for both work and family life.
The property, spans 3000 acres (approx. 1200 hectares). The main crops are cotton and sorghum. Irrigation is delivered via syphon flood and three centre pivots and the business has invested significantly in modern machinery and infrastructure in recent years.
About the Role
As Working Farm Manager, you'll be responsible for all day-to-day cropping operations. You'll be the key driver of the farming program-operating machinery, managing irrigation, and overseeing seasonal tasks from planning through to harvest. This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone who thrives on working independently with the backing of practical, engaged owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and carry out all cropping operations (planting, spraying, harvesting)
- Operate and maintain modern farm machinery
- Manage irrigation - syphons, bores, centre pivots
- Paddock preparation and laser levelling
- Record keeping and seasonal planning
- Supervise additional help when required
About You
- Strong experience in broadacre cropping (cotton/sorghum preferred)
- Skilled in operating machinery and performing mechanical maintenance
- Strong experience in driving self-propelled spray rig
- ChemCert accreditation
- Able to plan and work independently with a high standard of work
- Experience with irrigation systems including pivots and flood
- Positive, reliable, and committed to long-term farming
