Underground Shift Supervisor
Job description
Our client is Kingston Resources Ltd, an ASX listed gold producer that is currently focusing on ongoing development of the Mineral Hill Gold Mine near Condobolin in NSW. Mineral Hill is preparing for a transition to underground mining and are seeking highly skilled and motivated mining professionals to join their team.
The Mine
Mineral Hill is fully owned by Kingston Resources Limited and located approx. 65 km from Condobolin, NSW. Mining gold, silver and copper, underground rehab has commenced in preparation for development kicking off in the next couple of months and production ore scheduled for early next year.
Mineral Hill is now seeking 2 skilled and experienced Underground Shift Supervisors for an immediate start.
About the role
Reporting to the Underground Mine Superintendent you will take charge of overseeing underground mining crews and equipment, ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently. You'll lead and motivate your team to achieve excellence, conduct toolbox meetings, perform inspections, and provide essential training.
Key responsibilities
- Leading by example in safety and environmental awareness
- Plan tasks for the shift in conjunction with the Underground Mine Superintendent
- Conduct pre-shift crew briefings
- Generate shift plans that correctly assign resources to achieve targets
- Set up priority tasks to ensure that they are effectively and efficiently managed on the next shift
- Allocate machinery, work areas and tasks to shift employees
- Supervise employees ensuring that work is being carried out safely and as per instruction on mine plans
- Complete shift reports and timesheets
- Efficiency and care in use of equipment and resources by the underground crew
- Coordinate and assist with the facilitation of information/training, performance monitoring, coaching and informal performance reviews
- Keeping accurate records of activities in accordance with established standards
About you
- Must hold NSW Underground Mine Supervisor Practicing Certificate
- Security Clearance (UHL) or ability to obtain
- Previous leadership experience as a shift supervisor with a minimum of 10 years' experience
- Sound understanding of underground mining development and production operations
- Sound understanding of mine planning, mining engineering and geology
- Proven experience of underground mining plant and equipment operation and maintenance
- Good understanding of NSW statutory requirements for underground mining
- Be able to monitor your crews' competencies and training requirements
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Valid manual driver's licence
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
