Northparkes uses multiple mining methods including open pit, sub-level caving and was the first mine in Australia to use the block cave mining method. About the Role:

As a Tailings Technician (Cyclone) at Northparkes Mines, you will be responsible for:

  • Operating and maintaining cyclone tailings deposition systems
  • Performing spigot changes, cyclone maintenance, and tailings compaction
  • Conducting general facility checks
  • Operating machinery such as dozers and loaders
  • Performing manual labour as needed
  • Monitoring site instrumentation for safe disposal
  • Collaborating with the Tailings Leading Hand to follow deposition plans and maintain records
  • Upholding Zero Harm principles and contributing to a positive work culture

Roster: Various Roster patterns 7/7 - 5/2 Dayshift only
Hours: 12 hours/day
Contract: Fixed Term, 12 months

About You:

  • Valid manual driver's licence
  • Hands on individual
  • Team player who enjoys a challenging and varied role
  • You must pass a pre-employment medical
  • Strong work ethic and Safety Focus
  • Experience in Loaders & Dozers desirable
