Our client is seeking a reliable and proactive Service Technician to join their team on a part-time basis (approx. 12-20 hours per week). This role is ideal for someone located in Dubbo, or Griffith, with flexibility to travel to mine sites around Cobar.
You'll be the vital on-the-ground link between the warehouse team and site operations, delivering high-quality service, performing stock checks, and ensuring the efficient flow of consumables for underground drilling operations.
What You'll Do
- Travel one day/week to 3 mine sites around Cobar and conduct weekly on-site stock checks and tool condition assessments
- Deliver and collect rock-drilling consumables from mine site storage containers, liaising directly with drillers and site supervisors to understand site needs
- Monitor wear and damage on rods, bits, and accessories
- Back in the office, you will report weekly on tool usage, site activity, and customer feedback
- Coordinate deliveries, stock levels, and service logs using MS Word & Excel
About you
You're hands-on, reliable, and thrive in an independent role. You'll be confident working in sometimes challenging environments, building strong relationships with site personnel, and managing logistics tasks with precision.
Desired skills/experience include
- Experience with drill consumables or mining operations (ideal but not essential)
- Basic mechanical aptitude and sound judgement in physical inspections
- Comfortable using Word/Excel for reporting and Outlook for emails
- Physically fit - capable of lifting up to 40kg
- A valid Australian Driver's License
- Forklift license preferred (not essential)
You will be representing the company on sites so it is essential that you communicate and present well and have a good understanding of customer service.
What's on offer?
- Flexible part-time hours (12-20 per week depending on mine activity).
- Autonomy and independence in your role
- Join a globally recognised brand with a strong reputation in mining
- Direct impact on servicing key mine sites in the Cobar Basin
- Supportive team based at our Ballarat HQ
- Vehicle provided
- Competitive hourly rate
This role is for immediate start so don't delay!
As you will be required to be inducted onto a number of different mine sites, you must be willing to undergo a police check and a full pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening.
