Our Client
Our client, Dalara Pastoral, is a progressive, family-owned business with properties at Blackville, Denman, and Walcha. Their operation combines commercial livestock production with broadacre cropping, fodder, and cotton enterprises, supported by modern equipment, strong values, and a genuine commitment to their people.
Location
Based at Blackville, 120km from Tamworth and 65km from Quirindi, the location offers a supportive rural community and a hands-on, rewarding farming environment. The family home provided is just 17km from the local primary school and serviced by a school bus for secondary education.
About the Role
Working alongside the Cattle Manager and Farming Manager, this is a key hands-on position (70% livestock, 30% cropping) offering variety and autonomy.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Livestock husbandry and handling of Angus/Wagyu X cattle
- Supporting cropping programs including wheat, chickpeas, cotton, and sorghum
- Operating and maintaining modern machinery
- Property and workshop upkeep, with occasional travel to other properties
About You
We're looking for a capable and reliable all-rounder who enjoys working with livestock and machinery and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
You'll bring:
- Livestock handling skills, ideally with horses and working dogs
- Mechanical aptitude and confidence operating machinery
- Understanding of pasture management, fodder production, and GPS technology
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and safety-first approach
