Senior Policy Advisor

Are you a proactive policy expert with a passion for advocacy and agriculture? We're looking for a Senior Policy Adviser to help shape the future of NSW farming and agriculture. This is a full-time position within a passionate Policy and Advocacy team, reporting to the Policy Director.


About the Role

As a key point of contact for our client's policy committees, you'll work alongside the Policy Director to facilitate the development, analysis, communication, and execution of important policy issues. You'll be instrumental in developing well-researched advocacy plans and monitoring legislative issues.


Key Responsibilities

  • Policy & Advocacy: Research and analyze emerging policy issues, lead advocacy initiatives, and provide insightful analysis for submissions and communications.
  • Administration & Coordination: Provide administrative support to the policy section, coordinate projects with other staff, and maintain internal records.

  • Member & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a primary point of contact for members, answering questions and coordinating committee activities. You'll also help build and maintain relationships with government and industry stakeholders.


What We're Looking For

You should have well-developed professional skills and experience in a professional team, ideally within government, policy, or a large corporation. You'll have strong relationship management abilities and be a competent user of MS Office software. A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Agriculture, Law, Economics, or Science is essential, along with a sound understanding of the agriculture sector.

You are someone who takes initiative, thinks conceptually, and is intellectually curious. Your analysis and judgment skills are sharp, and you excel at collaboration and communication. You're also a planner and highly tenacious in achieving your goals.
