About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Roads and Stormwater Unit as Senior Planning and Infrastructure Engineer, providing expert advice and leadership in strategic infrastructure planning. You'll identify infrastructure needs, develop and maintain key planning strategies, and liaise with developers and delivery teams undertaking the required works. You will lead Tweed's Developer Contribution Plans and network strategies, ensuring Tweed Shire is equipped for future growth while ensuring financial, community and environmental sustainability.
Reporting to the Manager Roads and Stormwater, you will:
- Lead the review and development of strategic infrastructure policies, plans and systems.
- Provide expert advice on complex infrastructure planning issues, including development applications and policy directions.
- Act as project sponsor for major infrastructure initiatives, ensuring delivery meets time, cost and quality standards.
- Engage with Councillors, community groups and stakeholders through workshops and consultations.
- Collaborate across engineering, planning and finance teams to align infrastructure priorities with long-term service and financial plans.
About You:
You are a qualified civil engineer with strong experience in infrastructure planning and delivery. You bring strategic thinking, sound judgement and the ability to balance competing priorities in a dynamic environment. Your communication and negotiation skills are exceptional, enabling you to influence and build consensus across diverse stakeholders.
Essential:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in infrastructure planning and policy development.
- Strong leadership and project management capability.
- Advanced communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Current driver's licence.
Desirable:
- Postgraduate studies in Traffic/Transportation, Town Planning or Business Administration.
- Knowledge of the NSW Planning System.
