Our Scheduling Engineer role:
The technical services team at Northparkes works to deliver feasibility studies with the overall aim of optimising and extending the life of mine. You will work with a team of technical specialists providing mine planning, ventilation, geological and geotechnical analysis, and financial evaluation.
The position will be responsible to provide long term design and schedule for the study projects ensuring this is aligned with the production plan
This is a full-time permanent role on 5/2 or 5/2:4/3 roster (9-day fortnight).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver mine design and schedule for the mining studies as well as supporting the operation when required with weekly and monthly schedules, ensuring total development and construction is aligned with production schedule and inclusive of ventilation strategy, considerations for production and mine planning optimisation
- Deliver cost estimations of capital and operational expenditures
- Co-ordinate consultants and provide data for consultant's component of studies
- Identify and assess potential hazard and risk during the execution of the project and life of mine
- Ensure all procedures and processes are documented and aligned with the regulatory requirements and mining best practice
- Provide advice and consult with stakeholders throughout the mine design process to ensure due consideration for all aspects of the project and eventual handover to mining operations for execution
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant mining degree. Sound prior experience in underground hard-rock mining in the life of mine or strategic planning space is essential as is membership of a recognised professional organisation (AIG, SEG, AusIMM).
In addition,
- Whilst not essential, knowledge of sub level caving or block caving design and construction will be highly regarded
- An understanding of mining related costs and cost estimation skills are desirable
- High degree of computer literacy (MS Office) and advanced Mine design, planning and scheduling 3D software user (Deswik, Datamine)
- Drivers' License (Manual)
- Advanced communication and interpersonal abilities and well developed report writing and presentation skills.
