What you'll be doing:

In this role, you'll play a key part in managing Council's revenue debt recovery function. You'll work directly with ratepayers to negotiate payment plans, monitor outstanding balances, and take appropriate actions to reduce indebtedness. You will also:

  • πŸ’¬ Provide excellent customer service through face-to-face, phone, and email interactions.
  • πŸ“ˆ Assist in the development of revenue administration procedures and contribute to ongoing improvements.
  • 🌐 Support website updates and help train team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • πŸ“ Prepare monthly status reports on payment arrangements.
  • πŸ’° Ensure compliance with financial management practices and budgetary constraints.

What we're looking for:

  • πŸŽ“ Qualifications: TAFE qualifications in Accounting, Business, Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • πŸ’Ό Experience: Practical experience in debt recovery and financial management, with a solid understanding of revenue collection and accounting practices.
  • πŸ—‚οΈ Skills: Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • πŸ’» Tech Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • 🀝 Personal Attributes: Strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to collaborate within a team environment.
