Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer for a 6-month casual secondment supporting a major project based in Central West NSW. This role is ideal for someone with strong procurement experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
While the role is preferably site-based at the TIA offices, hybrid or work-from-home arrangements will be considered. The standard roster is 5:2, though we are open to 0.8 FTE across four days for the right candidate.
What You'll Do
Raise and manage purchase orders for goods and services aligned with project requirements
Liaise with suppliers to confirm pricing, resolve delivery issues, and manage order discrepancies
Collaborate with the project team to process and reconcile invoices
Track order progress, follow up on delays, and ensure accurate documentation
Maintain procurement records and ensure adherence to contract terms
About You
You're highly organised, a confident communicator, and capable of managing competing priorities. You bring a strong understanding of procurement processes and enjoy working both independently and as part of a project team.
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience in procurement, supply chain or purchasing roles
Proficiency in SAP/Ariba and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Experience on major projects or within capital works (advantageous)
A relevant degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering is desirable but not essential
