📝 Procurement Officer - Contracts (JG6)
Perfect for procurement or contract administration professionals seeking growth and exposure across a wide range of construction, goods, and services contracts.
What You'll Do
- Assist with the preparation of RFQs, tenders, contract documents, and Council reports.
- Support evaluations, negotiate with tenderers and prepare recommendations.
- Compile and administer contracts, variations, extensions, and exemption memos.
- Process progress claims, extensions of time, payment requests, and cost accuracy checks.
- Maintain contract registers, records, spreadsheets, and audit documentation.
- Provide procurement advice, risk identification, and probity guidance to internal clients.
- Liaise with project managers, contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate procurement of plant, materials and services for construction and maintenance programs.
- Use contract management software including Nimblex, TechOne ECM, TechOne Financials, Brightwork/SharePoint.

What You'll Bring
- Diploma in Procurement, Contract Administration or relevant discipline OR extensive experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, tendering, and contract administration.
- Understanding of Local Government procurement legislation and tendering practices (or ability to learn).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and record‑keeping capability.
- Excellent written communication, report preparation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office and contract management systems.
- Current Class C driver licence.
Desirable:
- Construction/engineering industry knowledge.
- Experience with contract management or procurement software.
