People and Culture Business Partner
Job description
The Business Partner - People & Culture plays a key role in supporting leaders and employees across the organisation, acting as a trusted advisor on all people-related matters. This position partners closely with managers to drive leader‑led capability, embed effective people practices, and support the delivery of workforce strategies that align with organisational goals.
The role will shape, implement, and evaluate People & Culture initiatives, ensuring a high‑performing, compliant, and engaged workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with leaders to build capability, coach performance, and support people‑focused decision‑making.
- Drive the implementation of workforce and people strategies, ensuring outcomes are measurable and aligned with organisational needs.
- Provide expert advice on employee relations, HR policies, and employment legislation.
- Promote best‑practice HR initiatives, continuous improvement, and a positive organisational culture.
- Coordinate return‑to‑work processes, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and the WHS Act 2011.
- Maintain accurate HR data and reporting through advanced use of HRIS and Microsoft Office tools.
- Support organisational development, workforce planning, and change initiatives.
- Uphold confidentiality, sound judgement, and a high level of professionalism in all interactions.
Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline, with 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments, and modern awards.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and influencing skills, with the confidence to motivate and guide leaders.
- Demonstrated passion for HR best practice, trends, and contemporary people challenges.
- Return‑to‑Work Coordinator certification, with solid understanding of WHS legislation and the WHS Act 2011.
- Strong computer literacy, including the Microsoft Office suite and advanced HRIS capability.
- Proven ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, initiative, and sound judgement.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a solutions‑focused, continuous‑improvement mindset.
