Overseer

Job description

Our client is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Overseer that will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day activities of their farm under the guidance of the owners. You will work independently, overseeing all aspects of cattle management, including both commercial and stud cattle. You will also be responsible for overseeing cropping operations and a small area of hay making. This position is ideal for a self-motivated individual with a passion for agriculture and livestock management.

Our client:

Located 12kms from Cowra, our client operates a reputable family-owner operation of 1,500 acres, specialising in commercial and stud cattle, as well as a successful cropping enterprise. Our client is committed to providing strong guidance, mentor-ship and upskilling where required.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the daily care and health of commercial and stud cattle, including feeding, breeding, and general welfare.

  • Monitor and maintain the health and productivity of the cattle herd, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.

  • Oversee cropping operations, including planting, harvesting, and crop rotation.

  • Implement and maintain sustainable farming practices.

  • Keep accurate records of livestock and cropping activities, along with the owners.

  • Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of farm equipment and facilities.

  • Report directly to the farm owners on progress and challenges.



Qualifications:

  • Experience in cattle management.

  • Knowledge of cropping practices and operations.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.

  • Strong work ethic and genuine passion for agriculture.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and seasonal demands.

  • Car License essential and truck license would be advantageous.
