Livestock Manager
Job description
This operation spans 40,000 acres and forms part of a progressive mixed farming enterprise. You'll be joining a supportive family and management team who value innovation, safety and long‑term career growth. The operation includes premium grass‑fed beef production for supermarket markets, as well as supporting dairy operations through Angus‑cross Friesians.
About the Role
This is a hands‑on leadership position responsible for overseeing the livestock program and contributing to a high‑quality beef breeding enterprise. You will work closely with the Farm Manager and Group Management while managing daily livestock operations.
You will be involved in:
- Managing 3,000 head of cattle, including a 1,000‑breeder herd
- Supporting stud bull development and breeding programs
- Implementing advanced breeding techniques, such as embryo transfer and AI
- Working within modern cattle handling facilities for safe and efficient operations
- Contributing to grass‑fed beef production for supermarket markets
- Supporting dairy‑related livestock programs (Angus‑cross Friesians)
- Quality on‑farm housing is provided.
About You
You will bring:
- Strong cattle handling and breeding experience
- Knowledge of stud registration and supplementary feeding
- Broadacre farming experience (advantageous)
