Mixed Farming - Livestock and Cropping Manager

Crossroads Pastoral is seeking a full-time Livestock and Cropping Manager to lead operations, implement scalable systems, support the team, and help take the business to new levels of profitability.

We are an expanding family-owned business managing 1,800 ha in Central West NSW, near Manildra and Molong, with a mix of beef trading, a 500-cow breeding herd, winter crops, and newly sown pastures.
At Crossroads Pastoral, we aim to grow our family legacy, maintain profitability, and focus on landscape management and infrastructure.

This role is ideal for an energetic, detail-oriented individual with a passion for agriculture who aligns with our people-focused business culture and strategic direction.

You'll also have opportunities to attend industry events and workshops to build your skills.
All duties must be performed to a high standard and align with the company's Vision and Values.

Role & Responsibilities

Business Management

Oversee all financial and business operations, including cashflow, budgeting, debt, and accounts payable;
report to advisers and conduct monthly staff/owner meetings;
plan revenue, sales, and budgets;
identify expansion opportunities;
negotiate with contractors and buyers;
manage WH&S, farm input purchases, and major capital projects.

Livestock Management

Manage grass and livestock operations, including stocking, welfare, breeding, sales, and trades,
while keeping accurate records and maintaining QA programs.

Cropping Management

Take control and work with family agronomists to drive greater production from the cropping rotation and the future pasture development program.
As part of this management role you will develop a crop rotation plan, budget to support input costs and manage the practical applications required in a timely manner which drive profit metrics.
Part of your role will be understanding dual purpose cropping systems, cereal seed production and canola.

Property Maintenance

Maintain the properties to a high standard, including infrastructure, machinery, farm hygiene, roads, fencing, water systems, and safe storage/disposal of chemicals and veterinary products,
while implementing new capital works in a tidy and presentable way.

Administration

Attend regular farm and stakeholder meetings, maintain accurate records and documentation of daily activities, ensure proper filing and storage, communicate clearly with all stakeholders,
and manage operations using the farm management program (Agriweb).
