Spinifex Recruiting is seeking reliable Labourers and experienced Plant Operators for ongoing council opportunities across the Ballina Shire area. These roles offer consistent hours, great council conditions and the chance to build a long-term career in local government.

About the Roles

Work is based across various council teams and worksites within Ballina Shire.
Assignments may include short-term, long-term or ongoing work depending on council needs.

You may be supporting:

• Water & wastewater maintenance teams
• Civil construction & maintenance crews
• Depot operations
• General infrastructure works
• Parks, grounds & facilities labouring
• Hydrant maintenance / utilities support work

These roles are hands-on, outdoors and team-based, contributing essential services to the local community.

• Plant Operators (Excavator, Loader, Roller, Skid Steer, etc.)
• Civil & Utilities Maintenance Support Roles

💰 Pay

• $33.93 - $35.38 per hour + super
• 9-day fortnight (every second Friday off!)

What You'll Need

Entry-Level / Labourer Requirements

• White Card - essential
• Physically fit and capable of hands-on outdoor work
• Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
• Driver's licence & reliable transport
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work in a team

Plant Operator Requirements

• Relevant plant operating tickets (e.g. Excavator, Loader, Roller)
• Demonstrated experience operating safely and confidently
• Driver's licence (Class C essential, HR desirable)
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work with limited direction

Highly Regarded

• Experience in civil, construction, water/wastewater or council environments
• Traffic control tickets
• MR/HR licence
• Confined spaces (for utilities work)
