Based in Casino, our client is owned entirely by farmers and has been operational since the 1930s. Being well known in the food processing space, they have over 1000 employees and are renowned for their use of world-class equipment. With a workforce that is constantly expanding, Human Resources is an integral part of the business, ensuring that the company's growth is supported by a skilled and engaged team.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the HR Manager, the Human Resources Officer has an incredible opportunity to make a significant impact in the people space. Collaborating with the Recruitment Officer, you will oversee the seamless onboarding process, ensuring compliance and fostering a positive experience for new hires. Serving a large, diverse workforce, you will be the primary contact for daily inquiries from employees across all departments.

What does the day-to-day look like?

If you've worked in Human Resources, you'll know that every day is different! However, a typical day in the life could include (and isn't limited to):

  • Being the 'go to' person in HR for all initial enquiries
  • Working closely with the Recruitment Officer to onboard new staff members
  • Completing reference checks, creating contracts, assigning access cards
  • Conducting exit interviews and managing low level termination processes
  • Aid in coordinating training and presenting at staff inductions
  • Conducting investigations into workplace disputes and grievances. High level cases being escalated to HR Manager
  • Collaborating with local schools and participating in career days
  • Ensuring employee record keeping is accurate and up to date
  • Getting involved in projects, inclusive of tracking & improving retention

Are you the perfect candidate? You have:

  • A Human Resources qualification and/or experience working in Human Resources
  • Been told you get along with everyone & build rapport easily
  • A natural flair for working with people. You genuinely enjoy working in a team-environment
  • Strong attention to detail. You ALWAYS double check your documents before hitting send!
  • The ability to manage competing priorities… your time management is excellent!
  • A positive outlook on life & glass half full mentality
  • Full working rights in Australia
