Geographical Information System (GIS) Administrator

Job description

Play a key role in shaping how Tweed Shire Council uses spatial data to deliver smarter, more connected services to the community.

We're looking for an experienced GIS Administrator to manage and enhance Council's enterprise GIS systems and spatial data platforms. You'll work closely with our Information Management and Technology teams to keep data flowing seamlessly across departments - from planning to infrastructure and environmental management.



What you'll be doing

  • Administer, maintain and develop Council's GIS systems and databases

  • Support and train internal users across multiple business units

  • Ensure data integrity, system performance and spatial accuracy

  • Design and publish maps, apps and dashboards for internal and public use

  • Provide technical input into system upgrades, integrations and new projects



What we're looking for

  • Experience with SQL databases (transferable to Oracle Spatial database management)

  • Knowledge and experience in developing and maintaining spatial data

  • Strong experience with ArcGIS Pro (geo-processing tools, map layouts)

  • Experience using ArcGIS Online (map authoring, web apps, Survey123, Field Maps)

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills



Desirable skills

  • Experience with ArcGIS Server

  • Experience using FME (Desktop and Server)

  • Competence in TechnologyOne systems
