Leading Hand (Traditional foreman) - Live Site

Toowoomba | 2-Month Contract | Immediate Upcoming Start

We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand (Traditional foreman) for a 2-month contract based in Toowoomba, working on a live aged care construction project.

This project involves the conversion of two existing sitting rooms into bedrooms with en-suites within a fully operational aged care facility. The works will be completed across two separate areas of the site, requiring movement throughout the facility while ensuring minimal disruption to residents and staff.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone confident in managing day-to-day site operations within a live, client-facing environment.

The Role

As the Site-Based Leading Hand, you will be responsible for:

• Overseeing daily site activities and coordinating trades
• Managing contractor sign-in/sign-out procedures
• Ensuring works are delivered within scope and to the program
• Maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-organised site at all times
• Working respectfully within a live aged care environment
• Ensuring minimal disruption to residents and staff
• Reporting progress and updates via iPad-based systems
• Acting as the key on-site point of contact

Given the operational nature of the facility, presentation, professionalism and communication skills are essential.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience as a Leading Hand in commercial construction
• Strong background in traditional formwork
• Experience working on live sites (healthcare, aged care, education or similar highly regarded)
• Sound understanding of site safety and compliance
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage trades and maintain high site standards
• Competency using an iPad for reporting and documentation
• Professional presentation and client-facing confidence
