Finance Support Officer

Job description

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and / or equivalent experience in Accounts Payable, Finance, Bookkeeping or Financial Administration
  • Familiarity with accounting software and financial systems
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Drivers licence and reliable transport
  • Unrestricted Australian working rights
  • Recent professional references

Key responsibilities:

  • Ability to ensure that all corporate records are fully and accurately captured and maintained, to comply with legislative requirements and business needs.
  • Verify and process incoming invoices for payment.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and delivery receipts.
  • Ensure correct coding of invoices in the accounting system

Essential skills and attributes:

  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated time management abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You're a team player with a positive can-do attitude

Desirable:

  • Experience working within local government
  • Certificate III in business, finance or accounting
