Job description
Mineral Hill Mine is located 65km north of Condobolin in Central West NSW. Owned by Kingston Resources, Mineral Hill is a workplace that values safety, continuous improvement, innovation and creativity. As part of their transition to open pit mining, an exciting new role has been created for an Emergency Services/Safety Officer.
Mineral Hill is a residential mine, FIFO is not available. There is relocation support available and accommodation can be provided in a share house. DIDO support is available within the region.
About the role
Reporting directly to the Health Safety and Training Manager, this is a full time role, available for immediate start and offers diverse duties across the site, including:
Emergency and incident response services including first aid, firefighting and rescue
Coordination of site emergencies
Audit and management of ER capabilities and equipment
Conduct safety inductions and manage site access and fit for work requirements
Participation in Return-to-Work processes, incident investigations and site risk assessments

Qualifications - possess, working towards or willing to acquire
Remuneration for the role will be determined by qualifications and experience, with a structure Level 1 through to Level 4. On the job, nationally recognised training is on offer to promote rapid annual progression. Level 1 would indicate the employee has minimal experience and qualifications, with the goal being to bring the employee quickly to a level 2 status within the first 3 months of employment.
Senior First Aid through to Certificate IV in Health Care (Ambulance) - or equivalent.
Certificate IV Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
Certificate III Mine Emergency Response and Rescue or equivalent
Australian Drug and Alcohol testing certificate - or equivalent.
Incident Investigation - ICAM or other
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
Skills/Experience
Strong communication skills and a proactive customer service focus
High level of interpersonal and organisational skills
Ability to self-manage and be time efficient
Competence with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Exposure to working in the emergency services industry and providing emergency support desirable
Ability to operate efficiently independently and in a team environment, especially under stressful and time critical situations
