Electrical Leading Hand

Job description

Join a growing, innovative mining company with a strong commitment to safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement. As they return to underground operations, Mineral Hill Mine, near Condobolin NSW is seeking an Electrical Leading Hand to supervise electrical trades on site.

Preferred roster is 5:2/4:3, but negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and supervise a team of electricians and trades assistants in daily maintenance tasks
  • Perform hands-on electrical repairs and diagnostics
  • Ensure compliance with site safety procedures, risk assessments, and permit to work systems
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolboxes, and training sessions to promote a safe work environment
  • Order parts for scheduled work and stock on hand
  • Assist in planning shutdowns, coordinating resources, and managing priorities
  • Liaise with supervisors, planners, and other departments to ensure alignment of maintenance activities with production targets
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and equipment status in the maintenance management system (DIMO)
  • Conduct inspections and audits to identify potential issues and recommend corrective action

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment, ideally in a supervisory or leading hand role
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems and work order processes
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
  • Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to hazard identification
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
