About the Role
As a Communications Officer, you will:
- ✅ Deliver Council's corporate communication and media activities.
- ✅ Manage websites and digital platforms to optimise content quality and user experience.
- ✅ Maintain a strategic content calendar to ensure timely and consistent communication.

- 📣 Lead engaging corporate communications and media activities, ensuring alignment with Council guidelines.
- 📣 Create high-quality content for digital and traditional channels.
- 📣 Foster collaboration across departments and support community engagement initiatives.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrate Council's values: creative, accessible, respectful, energetic, and safe.
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience producing copy across all media for diverse audiences.
- Ability to think creatively and generate new ideas.
- Strong oral and presentation skills to engage with community groups and stakeholders.
- High-level computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent time management skills to meet competing deadlines.
Desirable
- Local Government experience.
- Project management skills.
- Experience in community education/engagement.
- Graphic design skills and experience.
