Assistant Station Manager
Job description
We're looking for an Assistant Station Manager to step into a key leadership role on a large-scale, family-run pastoral operation in Western NSW.
Mount Hope Pastoral is a big, well-resourced place (145,971 acres across three properties), and this role comes with plenty of variety - goats, sheep, trade cattle in good years, plus fodder and cropping. You'll be based on one of the properties about 125km South of Cobar and 145km North of Hillston, with a 4-bedroom house provided.
This is a hands-on position where you'll assist with day-to-day operations, support and mentor the station team, and work closely with the Station Manager to drive livestock and cropping programs forward.
A bit about the role:
- Oversee daily livestock and cropping activities
- Mentor and guide station staff in safe, efficient practices
- Ensure plant, equipment, and infrastructure are well maintained
- Seasonal cropping support and machinery operation
- Water runs, fencing, general maintenance
- Using farm tech like Agriwebb (training available)
A bit about you:
- Strong livestock husbandry and station operations experience
- Confidence operating farm machinery and handling cropping tasks
- A positive, team-focused approach to leadership
- Safe, practical, and reliable
- Motivation to step up into more responsibility and grow with the role
What's on offer:
- Competitive pay package + 4-bedroom home, utilities, and meals
- Casual work options for a partner, depending on availability
- Family-friendly team who look out for each other
- Career progression and training in a forward-thinking business
Please note this role is open to Permanent Australian Residents or Citizens only.
If you're keen for a rewarding role with responsibility, variety, and space to grow, we'd love to hear from you. APPLY NOW or to discuss further, please contact Anna Brown on 0427 644 527 or Kate McKittrick on 0409 393 696.
