About The Team: Join the dynamic and dedicated Infrastructure Services team in Byron Shire Council. This Assets & Major Projects Team plays a pivotal role in managing and improving the infrastructure that serves the community. They are committed to delivering exceptional customer service and high-quality outcomes within budget and time constraints.
Role Overview: As the Asset Management Coordinator, you will lead and coordinate the development, deployment, maintenance, and improvement of the asset management system. You will supervise a team of skilled professionals and ensure that the asset management policies, plans, and strategies are innovative, sustainable, and aligned with the council's objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Assets & Major Projects Team, including direct supervision of an Asset Engineer, GIS Officer, and Asset Management System Officer.
- Develop, implement, and enhance the asset management system to ensure efficient and effective management of council assets.
- Conduct or supervise asset inspections and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Develop and maintain asset management policies, plans, and strategies in alignment with council goals.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
- Communicate complex asset management issues clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
About You: We are looking for a motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in asset management and\or engineering. You should have a passion for innovation and leadership, with a proven track record of delivering quality outcomes.
Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in asset management, engineering (ideally Civil), or a related discipline.
- Proven successful experience in the development, deployment, and maintenance, of an asset management system.
- Experience in developing asset management policies, plans, and strategies.
- Demonstrated leadership of a team to deliver excellent customer service and quality outcomes within budget and time constraints.
- Demonstrated record of innovation and creativity in asset management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills,
- Experience using asset management-related software.
- Current Driver's Licence.
Preferred Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in budget, procurement, and project planning processes.
- Commitment to and understanding of process improvement and sustainability principles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Local Government Act, Regulations, and associated legislation as they pertain to asset management.
