Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications and / or equivalent experience in Accounting, Accounts Payable, Finance, Bookkeeping or Financial Administration
- Familiarity with accounting software and financial systems
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Drivers licence and reliable transport
- Unrestricted Australian working rights
- Recent professional references
Key responsibilities:
- Ability to ensure that all corporate records are fully and accurately captured and maintained, to comply with legislative requirements and business needs
- Verify and process incoming invoices for payment
- Match invoices with purchase orders and delivery receipts
- Ensure correct coding of invoices in the accounting system
Essential skills and attributes:
- Self-motivated and proactive
- High level of attention to detail
- Demonstrated time management abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- You're a team player with a positive can-do attitude
Desirable:
- Experience working within local government
- Certificate III in business, finance or accounting
