Data and insights are central to this work - enabling leaders to track progress, manage risk, allocate funding, and make timely, evidence‑based decisions in a highly dynamic environment.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Analyst (PowerBI Specialist) to support the Flood Restoration team by designing and delivering high‑quality reporting and actionable insights. This is a hands‑on, delivery‑focused role, working closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders to transform complex, multi‑source data into clear, intuitive Power BI dashboards that drive decision‑making.

This role would suit someone who has worked in a busy, complex local government environment, or ideally within construction or infrastructure programs with many moving parts and dependencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain PowerBI dashboards and reports to support business decision‑making
  • Build and optimise data models using Power Query (M) and DAX
  • Integrate data from multiple sources including SQL databases, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, and cloud platforms
  • Gather, analyse, and translate business requirements into effective data visualisations
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance across reports and datasets
  • Manage PowerBI Service elements including workspaces, datasets, refresh schedules, and row‑level security (RLS)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver user‑friendly, insightful reporting solutions
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis and storytelling
  • Maintain documentation and provide user training and reporting support
  • Continuously improve the performance, usability, and scalability of BI solutions
  • Adhere to organisational data privacy, security, and compliance standards

About You

  • Strong hands‑on experience delivering end‑to‑end PowerBI solutions
  • Advanced skills in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modelling
  • Experience integrating and reconciling data from multiple systems and sources
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in fast‑paced, evolving environments
  • Experience in local government, construction, infrastructure, or operational delivery programs is highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data integrity and governance

What's on Offer

  • Competitive contract rates
  • Hybrid / remote working available
  • Initial presence in Lismore required for onboarding and stakeholder engagement
  • Opportunity to contribute to high‑impact flood recovery and restoration initiatives
  • Work within a collaborative team delivering outcomes that directly support communities
